Barbara Rubel is leading a workshop at the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) conference in Los Angeles, CA.   The workshop is titled:  Media Portrayals of Suicide.  The objective is to understand the correlation between the presentation of suicide in the media and the influencing of attitudes and behaviors of the public.

Barbara Rubel is leading a workshop at the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) conference in Charlotte, NC.  The workshop is titled Caregivers Responding  In Situations Involving Suicide: C.R.I.S.I.S.  Model.  This model brings together the skills and the issues of caregivers when helping suicide survivors.   Barbara will explore risk factors and warning signs, suicide bereavement, the importance of immediate crisis intervention, the image of suicide, and stigma.
